UPSC announced IES notification 2019- Everything you need to know about how to apply for IES 2019

Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2019 notification has been released by UPSC on 26th September 2018. This year UPSC will conduct IES exam for 581 vacancies, including 34 vacancies for the Persons with Benchmark Disability. The examination will be conducted by the central government under four categories: Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, and Electronics & Telecommunication engineering.

How to start IES Preparation for scoring 837 marks in First attempt.

 Last date to apply: 22nd Oct' 2018 ( till 1800 hours or 06:00 P.M.)
 Total Vacancies: 581 (including locomotor disability- 23; hard of hearing- 11)

Age Limit: Born between 2nd January 1989 and 1st January 1998 (more than 25 years and less than 30 years)

Ex-Servicemen- 5 years
PwBD -10 years
Mode of Payment: Challan/Netbanking


How to apply:
Apply  Online     using     the     link     www.upsconline.nic.in. Applicants  are  advised  to  submit  only  single  application;  however,  if  due    to    any    unavoidable    situation,    if  he/she submits  another/multiple  applications,  then  he/  she  must  ensure  that  application  with  the  higher  RID  is  complete    in    all   respects    like    applicants'  details,    examination    centre,    photograph,    signature,    fee    etc.      WHILE FILLING IN HIS/HER APPLICATION FORM, THE CANDIDATE SHOULD CAREFULLY DECIDE ABOUT HIS/HER CHOICE FOR THE  CENTRE  AND  ENGINEERING  DISCIPLINE  FOR  THE  EXAMINATION.

Essentials for filling IES form:

Fill up your moblie number and email address.

Marks obtained in Class 10th and Class 12th.

CGPA of all semesters in Engineering of relevant streams.

Applicant's scanned image of photo and signature under 40KB(very important)

Certificate for caste for availing age relaxation

Persons with Benchmark Disability Certificate

There are 2 stages to fill an IES form:

Go to official website of UPSC.

Choose “online application for various examinations of UPSC” on the screen.

Every should enter on “new users” for single registration process of filling ESE.
A new page will pop up with an online form.

1st Stage: Registration

Following particular are to be filled:

Name – Write the Candidate Name in BLOCK LETTERS, as in 10th Marksheet.

Guardian's Name : Write as mentioned in 10th or 12 th Marksheet.

Gender – Female or Male.

Birth Date:
Please mention birthdate as in 10th admit Card.

Citizen: please select nationality is candidate belongs to country other then india should mention certificate.
Email Address: please write a valid email address to to keep in touch with IES for future notification. Password – write a password of 10 digit having at least one number.

Mobile Number – please write a valid mobile number from which you can keep touch with ies for future notifications

 Details of Academics –  provide following details.
10th Class Details
 Total marks obtained, Percentage, Passing year and School name and Board Name.
12th Class Details: Total marks obtained, Percentage, Passing year , School name, Board Name.

B.Tech Details: Total marks obtained, Calculate Percentage from CGPA, Passing Year, Branch of Engineering.

Complete this and select ' Save and Continue'.


UPSC will send an email and message mentioning your RID and password. Save it in your mobile as it is useful during your ESE recruitment process.


Stage 2:  Candidates should fill details like : Exam Center, Upload Photo and Signature, Payment etc.

Candidates will be able to fill up form 2 by using RID and date of birth.

Payment:  Candidates have to pay ₹200 as Exam fee, except females, SC/ST ,PH.
Payment can be done through online as well as offline mode.
Online mode: Candidates have to opt for  netbanking till 06:00 pm of 22nd Oct.

Offline mode: Candidates who choose ' Pay by Cash' option have to generate Pay -in- Slip  before it is deactivated    at  11.59  PM   of    21.10.2018   i.e.    one  day  before  the  closing  date. Submit it offline from nearby SBI branch.

Photo & Signature:
Photo and signature are required to be attached in JPG format, no other format will be supported.

Size of Photo and Signature: Image should not be more than 40 KB (140×110).
Make sure the image and signature are cropped clearly.
* Note: Blur or improper photo and signature are liable to be rejected, as specified by UPSC.
Please check all details carefully and correct it accordingly. Any corrections in the future will not be entertained.
Click on the Agreements and select " Submit".
Save the printout of the submitted form for downloading Admit Card and for future events.
